Fuel poverty is on the rise

The long-term trend on energy bills is consistently increasing. They are expected to rise until at least 2030, according to current predictions. 535,000 households in socially rented accommodation in England were in fuel poverty, according to government data from 2023 & 2024. When energy prices increase beyond 2023 & 2024 levels, fuel poverty statistics will get worse.

Due to significant investment and effort from Social Housing Providers, Social Housing properties are the most energy efficienton average, when compared to the Private Rented Sector and the Owner-Occupied sector. But installing Energy Efficiency equipment can be slow and capital-intensive.

There is another way to alleviate the impacts of fuel poverty - engaging with tenants and making sure they are on the cheapest energy tariff available for them.

Our energy tariff comparison tool

Our tariff comparison tool is free for your tenants to use. It takes the meter data from the property, compares it against every tariff available on the market, and tells the household which one is genuinely cheapest for the way they actually use energy.

Our recommendations are not based on an estimate from a typical-usage table - it's based on their own consuption.

We can do this for free at the end of each inspection - so an annual inspection becomes a yearly domestic energy review.

01
Read the meter data
Actual consumption from the property, not an average consumption profile.
02
Compare the whole market
Every available tariff modelled against that usage pattern.
03
Give the tenant one answer
Offer to switch them to the cheapest tariff for their household.

A single, accountable partner — across your stock

Meeting the duty to keep homes safe, warm and decent takes reliable, well-documented compliance across many properties. Property Compliance Group will provide clear, auditable reporting across your whole portfolio, ready to work to your contracts, frameworks and tenders.

01
Cover when your team is stretched

Lean teams and staff carrying both asset management and investment delivery hate having to chase certificates. We can be accountable for your entire compliance programme, so compliance does not stall when your staff are on leave or needed to deal with other priorities.

02
Reliable record-keeping

If your compliance data is spread across spreadsheets and legacy systems, we can remove the hassle of filling in multiple systems, by delivering the compliance certificates/data into any number of systems. Every certificate comes back in one consistent format with photographic evidence - one clean dataset you can report from and hand to an auditor.

03
Specialist Compliance knowledge

We are Compliance professionals, not general contractors. We know the regulations around gas boilers, alarms, EPCs, energy standards, PAT and legionella —we take the pressure off your in-house team on staying up to date with changing regulation. And because we can do every inspection you need, your property is attended once - less disruption for your tenants, and less expiry dates to keep track of for you.

04
Lower & more predictable costs

Transparent pricing and only one compliance visit per property mean costs are lower and more predictable. When Compliance costs are lower, this means more investment can be made in the housing stock or in other initiatives that previously were on standby.
